Where ancient slate meets patient hands
We believe wine is a conversation between the land and the people who tend it. In the ancient llicorella soils of Priorat, each vine tells a story of struggle and grace — and we simply listen, then bottle what we hear.
Red · 2021
Dark fruit, iron minerality, and a long finish that speaks of old vines and volcanic stone.
Red · 2017
Aged in French oak, with notes of dried herbs, leather, and a structured tannic backbone.
White · 2022
Bright and textured — citrus blossom, stone fruit, and a saline freshness unique to the Priorat highlands.
Hodgkinson Wines was born from a profound love of the Priorat landscape — a remote corner of Catalonia where terraced vineyards cling to steep, slate-rich hillsides and vines must struggle deep to find water and nourishment. That struggle is the secret to everything we make.
Founded by the Hodgkinson family in 2008, the estate spans 12 hectares of llicorella soil — the distinctive black and gold slate that gives Priorat wines their unmistakable minerality. Our oldest vines are over 60 years old, their roots threading metres deep into the rock.
We farm organically, harvest by hand, and vinify with as little intervention as possible. We believe our role is not to impose, but to listen — to the soil, to the vintage, to the vine — and translate that conversation into the bottle.
Each wine we produce is a small-batch expression of a specific parcel, a specific year, a specific moment. No two vintages are ever quite the same, and we celebrate that.
No herbicides, no synthetic pesticides. We work with the ecosystem, not against it — cover crops, composting, and careful observation guide every decision.
Every grape is picked by hand, selected bunch by bunch. The steep terrain demands it, and the wine is all the better for the care it requires.
We produce fewer than 12,000 bottles per year across all our wines. Small quantities mean absolute attention to every detail, from vine to cork.
Small batches, single parcels, honest vintages
